The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State has consolidated its efforts to replace the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state so as to end the multifarious problems confronting the state in the last seven and half years.
This came to bear at the Ibarapa zonal rally of the ADC gubernatorial campaign in Eruwa, Oyo State in a
released signed by Engineer Akeem Olatunji, Director of Public Communication, New Media and Tertiary Institution for Senator Olufemi Lanlehin Campaign Organization (SOLANCO)
Speaking at the rally, the Director General of the Lanlehin/Alaran Campaign Organisation, Architect Bashiru Lawal said the APC-led government had failed in all facets of governance.
While lamenting the failure of APC to deliver on all its 2015 campaign promises, Arc Lawal implored the people of the state to vote out the ruling party in this year general elections.
According to him. “People are dying of hunger because the economy has gone terribly bad due to non payment of workers as at when due. The cost of road construction in Oyo State is one of the highest rate in the world and this has encourage corruption at the government circle.
“The suffering in the land is enormous today. Oyo State is invariably becoming world’s poverty capital if care is not taken. We need a governor that will fix the economy, create jobs, improve education, boost agriculture and construct rural roads and pay attention to the plight of Ogbomoso, Ibarapa and Oke-ogun zones.
“This APC government must go because events of the past seven and half years have shown that they do not have solutions to all these problems. We must vote this government out and elect Lanlehin as our next Governor. My people of Ibarapa, we must vote out APC, Lanlehin is solution to Oyo State’s problem”.
Speaking in a similar vein, ADC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin lamented that the State had gone moribund under the APC, hence the need to provide an alternative administration that could make things work in the State again.
According to Lanlehin, “They promised us job, prompt payment of salaries, free and qualitative education, qualitative healthcare and to improve the economy but in each of these, they have failed the masses. It is time for our people to vote ADC to power because it is the only party with human face and masses oriented policies that would enhance the welfare of the masses.
“Today, in terms of the government workers welfare, most especially the staff tertiary institutions, Oyo State workers are the poorest in the world going by the non payment of their salaries up to 12 months and above in some cases.
“It is disheartening that Ibarapa land with three tertiary institutions have experienced worst treatment in terms of infrastructures, lecturers welfare and academic environment for the students.
“As at today, our schools are in dilapidated conditions with morale of teachers at her lowest ebb, Oyo State came 26th in the recently released NECO results out of the 33 States in the country, these are incontrovertible facts which negated the pacesetter’s status Oyo State is known for before the advent of Ajimobi led administration.
The state of roads linking ibarapa and other areas of Oyo State are in deteriorating condition, which has been affecting transportation of farm products, thus, making the farmers to run at lost as a result of exorbitant charges by the transporters”.
Senator Lanlehin alleged plans by the APC to buy permanent voters cards, PVCs, from people as a way of perpetrating electoral fraud but
urged Nigerians to guard against the plan so as not to mortgage their future.
