The People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPCC) has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over alleged drug trafficking and siphoning of state funds.
The party also condemned a new group it described as a militia, and demanded that security agencies immediately arrest and prosecute those associated with the so-called “Jagaban Army.”
Making the call at a media briefing in Abuja on Sunday, a spokesman for the campaign council, Daniel Bwala, asked Nigeria’s drug police to formally question Tinubu over what deal led him to forfeiting $460,000 to US authorities some way back.
The PDP council similarly called on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest Tinubu quickly and prosecute him.
Corroborating Bwala, another spokesman for the PDP campaign, Phrank Shaibu, alleged that Tinubu was still involved in the illegal drug-related business as recently as 2015.
He added that Tinubu transferred $4.3 million to a briefcase company based in Colombia.
