A team in the Turkish Super Lig, Caykur Rizespor, is excited by the recent invitation of their player, Ibrahim Olawoyin, to the Nigerian national senior team, the Super Eagles.
Olawoyin, a former Enugu Rangers midfielder, was called up as a replacement for Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella, who withdrew from the squad for family reasons.
This marks Olawoyin’s first call-up to the Super Eagles, who are preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
“We wished success to our player Ibrahim Olawoyin, who was called to the squad of the Nigeria national team for the matches against South Africa and Benin in the 2026 World Cup African qualifier”, the club wrote on X.
The 26-year-old scored eight goals in 36 league appearances for Rizespor last season.
