2027: APC Primaries Produce 25 Governorship Candidates +Full List

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has so far fielded 25 candidates for governorship positions, following the conclusion of its ongoing primary elections in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The governorship primaries began in 28 states on Thursday but could not be concluded in three.

The yet to be concluded were Kwara, Nasarawa, and Bauchi States.

They are scheduled to be concluded on Friday (today).

Primaries were not conducted in Kogi, Edo, Bayelsa, Anambra, Imo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo States as they observed off‑cycle elections.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, confirmed the rescheduling of the primaries Kwara and Bauchi States for Friday (today), as well that of the House of Assembly for Maradun I and Maradun II Constituencies in Zamfara State for Sunday.

The result from Nasarawa State was delayed because of late arrival of materials.

Morka said: “The All Progressives Congress hereby announces the rescheduling of the governorship primary elections in Bauchi and Kwara States to Friday, May 22, 2026.

“Similarly, the party has approved the rescheduling of the State House of Assembly primary elections for Maradun I and Maradun II Constituencies in Zamfara State to Sunday, May 24, 2026.

“The decision was approved by the National Working Committee following consultations with relevant stakeholders and in furtherance of the party’s commitment to ensuring a transparent, orderly, peaceful and credible primary election process.”
