The Labour Party has declared that only candidates from Southern Nigeria will be eligible to contest for its presidential ticket in the 2027 general elections.
Nenadi Usman, the party’s acting National Chairperson, disclosed the decision on Tuesday during an interaction with journalists in Abuja.
Usman stated, “We have made a definite decision that the party will not field any aspirant from northern Nigeria.
“The position has been zoned to the South, and any northerner seeking to contest will not be considered.”
