Abuja Bank Robbery: I Am Proud Of Your Pro-Activeness, Atiku Boost Army, Police Morale

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar in his reaction to a foiled bank robbery attempt in the Mpape area of Abuja; says he’s proud of the Nigerian Army and the Police for their pro-activeness.

Atiku commended the security operatives who arrived at the scene on time to foil the attack. He also called for improved security of the country and its people next year.

Alhaji Atiku made this known in a tweet on Twitter shortly after the Police announced normalcy in the area.

It would be recall that some group of armed men had earlier on Saturday attacked a commercial bank located at Mpape, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The suspects were said to have gained entry into the banking hall after shooting sporadically into the air to scare people away.

However, their hope of successful and well-planned operation was dashed as they came to the end of the road after they were trapped inside the bank.

This was as a result of the prompt response by security operatives made up of men of the Nigeria Police Forces, Nigerian Army, and the Department of State Services (DSS) who positioned themselves strategically in the area.

“I am proud of the pro-activeness of the Nigerian Army and Police in foiling the bank robbery in Abuja,” It is my hope that this will be the face of a reinvigorated security in the New Year.” Atiku said in a tweet.
