Alhaji Umaru Fintri has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary to contest the Adamawa state governorship election on October 11. TheCable news report.
He was initially screened out among the aspirants, is expected to complete the tenure of ousted governor Murtala Nyako. He was the speaker of the state house of assembly until he succeeded Nyako, according the constitution.
Fintri polled 60 per cent of votes in the election, which was presided over by the immediate-past speaker of the federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
