The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially endorsed former Federal Attorney-General Abubakar Malami as its candidate for the governorship race in the 2027 general elections.
The development was announced in a statement issued by Mohammed Bello Doka, Special Assistant on Media to Malami.
According to the statement, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters expressed confidence in the ADC’s preparations for the next election cycle.
The ADC also affirmed retired military officer, Aminu Bande, as its senatorial candidate for Kebbi Central.
A retired Deputy Comptroller-General, Ibrahim Muhammad Mera, emerged as the party’s candidate for Kebbi North Senatorial District.
The statement added that Garba Danjuma Limi was affirmed as the ADC senatorial candidate for Kebbi South.
The party said it remained committed to providing purposeful leadership, justice, security, good governance and sustainable development in Kebbi State and Nigeria.
It also called for unity and determination among members and supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement expressed optimism that the ADC would build “a more prosperous future for generations to come.”
Malami is currently facing trial, but the former minister has denied wrongdoing, describing the case as a political witch-hunt.
