
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hailed Tony Nwoye’s appointment as Senate Minority Whip, calling it a testament to his credibility and the party’s rising influence.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said Nwoye’s elevation is a testament to his dedication to democratic values.
“This well-deserved recognition is a testament to Senator Nwoye’s consistency, courage, and unwavering commitment to democratic values,” the statement read.
The party noted that the development highlights its readiness to strengthen democratic practice and provide responsible opposition.
It added that the appointment signals increasing trust in the ADC as a viable political platform.
The ADC said the milestone reinforces its ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that it is prepared not just to contest but to lead.
“This milestone further affirms that the ADC is not only prepared to contest but ready to lead,” the party stated.
The party expressed confidence that Nwoye would bring diligence and balance to his new role in the Senate.
It also said his contribution would be vital in advancing legislative responsibility and protecting the interests of Nigerians during a critical period in the country’s democratic journey.
