The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, inaugurated a 100-member panel tasked with advising the government on a lasting solution to the communal clashes between the Ifon and Ilobu communities in the state.
The two communities have a history of violent clashes, often driven by boundary disputes.
The panel, co-chaired by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, and the Chairman of the State Boundary Commission, Justice Moshood Adeigbe (retd.), held its inaugural sitting immediately after the swearing-in of its members.
The committee has been given two weeks to submit its report to the state government.
