Nigeria’s Super Eagles advanced to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) semi-finals after beating Algeria 2-0
Eric Chelle’s side dominated the game from the start, but failed to convert their chances.
Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams all wasted good chances before the interval.
Victor Osimhen gave the Super Eagles the lead two minutes after the break.
The Galatasaray striker nodded home from Bruno Onyemaechi’s superb cross.
Akor doubled Nigeria’s lead 10 minutes later.
The 25-year-old dribbled past Algeria goalkeeper before slotting the ball into net after he was teed up by Osimhen.
The Super Eagles maintained their lead for the remainder of the game.
The three-time champions will face hosts Morocco in the semi-final in Rabat next week Wednesday.
