AFCON Q: Osimhen Gets Hat-trick As Nigeria Thrashes Sao Tome And Principles 6-0

Super Eagles and Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, scored three goals in Super Eagles 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.

With this win, Super Eagles have confirmed their place as group winners following a dominant victory over Sao Tome and Principe.

The Jose Peseiro-led side refused to be satisfied against the team which they had beaten 10-0 in the first-leg.

Osimhen, who had scored four goals in the first-leg against this opposition, also scored the opener for the second-leg, heading in an Ademola Lookman cross from a corner kick.

The Atalanta forward went from provider to score on the 27th-minute mark, cutting inside on his right foot before burying the ball in the goalkeeper’s near post.

Taiwo Awoniyi, who started up front with Osimhen, made it three in the 51st minute, getting his goal after struggling to make an impact in the first-half.

Super Eagles was awarded a penalty after Osimhen was fouled in the box by the Sao Tome goalkeeper, and he scored spot-kick.

The Napoli striker completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute after he was played through by substitute Samuel Chukwueze.

Chukwueze made it six soon after, combining with fellow substitute Victor Boniface as Nigeria grabbed another famous victory against the Central African team.
