AFCON Qualifier: Libya To Host Nigeria In Benina

Libya have opted to host Group D leaders Nigeria at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match-day four fixture on Tuesday, 15th of October.

Nigeria will host the first leg in Uyo on Friday, 11th of September.

The facility is located in the city of Benina, some 19 kilometres outside the country’s second city, Benghazi.

Known previously as Hugo Chávez Stadium, the venue is a 10,000-capacity facility with an artificial turf.

While the match in Uyo will kick off at 5 pm, the battle in Benina will commence at 8 pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria tops the pool with four points after a 3-0 thrashing of Benin Republic in Uyo on match-day one and a goalless draw against Rwanda’s Amavubi in Kigali in their second game.

Libya, meanwhile, remains bottom of Group D after two rounds of matches, following a 1-1 draw at home to Rwanda (a game that was played at the Tripoli International Stadium) and a 2-1 loss to the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Abidjan.
