The Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has decried the slow pace of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC’s) distribution.
This he maintained needed to be addressed urgently, ahead of the coming election holding in the next two weeks.
According to him, INEC needed to brace up to fill the existing vacuum to achieve credible polls.
Agbaje stressed that this would remove suspicion that certain people might have regarding issuance of PVCs.
He stressed that it was particularly worrisome that certain categories of Lagosians, including non-indigenes, had not been able to obtain the document despite several attempts.
The PDP Governorship Candidate, according to a statement by his Directorate of Media and Publicity, who spoke in Alimosho Local Government Area, said this left much to be desired.
He, however, tasked Lagosians not to despair over the development by ensuring that they went to their registration centres to collect the cards.
According to a statement signed by his Directorate of Media and Publicity, Felix Oboagiwina, Agbaje told his part supporter that, “Your PVC is your right. Please, go to where you registered to collect it from INEC officials.
“It is the instrument that you will use to effect the desired change in Lagos, so go and get it,” he said.
Continuing, Agbaje charged the citizenry to continue to embrace peace and avoid any form of violence.
He hinged this on the fact that it was only in an atmosphere of peace that the PDP could oust APC from government in Lagos.
The PDP chieftain assured the people of delivering on his promises by providing them basic needs of life on assumption of office.
According to him the traumatized people will only get this from a government that is truly progressive in words and indeed.
He therefore told them to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and other PDP candidates in the coming elections.
