Ajax Move to Sign Tolu Arokodare on Loan From Wolves

Ajax are on the verge of landing Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with a loan deal including a buy option now agreed between the two clubs.

The package is valued at slightly over €20 million in total, with a €22 million purchase option that Ajax are not obligated to trigger. A loan fee has also been included in the agreement, and the Dutch club will cover Arokodare’s full salary during his time in Amsterdam.

Sources close to the club confirmed that Arokodare was Ajax’s priority striking target heading into this window. The two clubs have reached a club-to-club agreement, and both sides are now working through the final details before the deal is officially announced.

Wolves will not walk away empty-handed either way. The English club are set to receive performance-related bonuses tied to Ajax’s qualification for European competition, giving them a financial stake in the Nigerian striker’s success in the Eredivisie.

Arokodare has shown plenty of promise at club level and will be hoping a move to Ajax gives him the platform and regular playing time to fulfil that potential. Ajax, rebuilding after a turbulent few years, clearly see him as someone who can lead their attack and make an immediate impact.

The finer details are being ironed out, but the deal is close. An announcement is expected in the coming days.
