The Desert Warriors of Algeria have won their first African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title since 1990. They defeated the Teranga Lions of Senegal by a lone goal in the final played on Friday, July 19.
The game played at the Cairo International Stadium got off to a very feisty start after a goal in the 2nd minute.
Algeria with their first attack on goal had Baghdad Bounedjah cutting in from the left before hitting a shot; which took the hugest of deflections off the sliding Salif Sane.
The match was attraction in the midfield with little chances created by both sides.
