The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, on Monday declared Mr. Tony Nwoye, as the authentic candidate of the party for the November 16, 2013, governorship election, meanwhile, Senator Andy Uba, has also been declared the winner of the primary conducted by a faction of the PDP in the State.
While addressing newsmen at the national office of the party in Abuja, Tukur said when the chairman of the Anambra State congress committee and Katsina State Governor, Mr. Ibrahim Shema, tendered the report of the primary it monitored to the national working committee (NWC).
He thanked Shema and his committee for their service and transparency in the conduct of the primary declaring, “Go and tell the world that Tony Nwoye is the candidate of the PDP in the November 16 election.”
The party has threatening to sanction Senator Andy Uba, over the primary conducted by the faction of the party loyal to him. Uba who emerged as the winner of the primary staged by the Ejike Oguebego chaired faction of the party with 645 votes making him the second candidates for the party in the state.
