AS Roma have agreed a deal to sign striker Santiago Castro, with all parties confirming the agreement is in place for a package fee of €35 million.
The move has been in the works for some time, and Roma’s hierarchy have finally got their man after pushing hard to secure a deal before the window closes. Castro had attracted interest from multiple clubs, but the Italian side won the race for his signature.
The Argentine striker is expected to travel to Rome in the coming days to complete his medical before finalising the transfer. Once that formality is out of the way, he will put pen to paper and officially become a Roma player.
Castro’s arrival addresses a pressing need at the club. Roma have been searching for a reliable goalscorer capable of leading the line consistently, and the 21-year-old fits the profile they were after. Still young but already proven at a competitive level, he brings energy, movement, and a sharp eye for goal.
At €35 million, Roma will be hoping the investment pays off quickly. A new striker of his profile could prove vital if the club is serious about pushing for a European spot this season. All eyes will now be on how quickly Castro settles into life in Serie A and makes his mark under the new setup at the Stadio Olimpico.
