BBNaija Season 9 Highlights: Who Gets Evicted Tonight?

The drama continues in the BBNaija Season 9 house. Last week marked a game-changer as housemates got to nominate each other for the first time this season.

Each pair had to nominate two pairs for possible eviction. Not only did viewers get a glimpse of who the housemates were eyeing for eviction, but potential alliances started to surface.

Adding more drama, Biggie shook things up by scrapping the custodian challenge. Usually, custodians could save and replace nominated housemates, but that’s off the table. Henceforth, the power fully lies in the hands of fans and viewers.

Following the tense nomination show on Monday, five pairs; Zinwe, Chekas, Double Kay, Beta and WanniXHandi are up for possible eviction tonight.

Beta: Beta consisting of Action Ben and Tjay, received four nominations, placing them in the danger zone. Their dynamic as a duo has generated interest and they seem to have built a solid fanbase. Ben didn’t mince words when he opened up about the nomination, admitting that he wasn’t surprised by the house’s decision to put them up for eviction. “The house is deceiving itself with fake love,” he said, adding that Tjay’s earlier comments about an ‘Igbo’ alliance played a significant role. However, Ben has accepted their fate, saying, “The game is the game,” while Tjay echoed same sentiment, hoping that things would work out in their favour.

WanniXHandi: The WanniXHandi duo (Wanni and Handi) who were the previous week’s custodians and have been a prominent presence in the house, now face the uncertain fate of eviction. Their daring, energetic and entertaining personalities have made them fans’ favorites and they have good social media following. Interestingly, the duo’s nomination didn’t come as a shock and they were sure that Zinwe was behind it, attributing it to their close ties with Floruish, who were evicted last Sunday. The twins didn’t hold back, celebrating Floruish’s eviction and calling out Mayor Frosh of Streeze as a liar who needs to “wear some man pants.”

Zinwe: The Zinwe pair, consisting of lovebirds; Zion and Chinwe, got the highest number of nominations and are also on the brink of eviction. They received five nominations in total from fellow housemates. Zinwe’s nomination did not surprise Chinwe at all and hers was the first pair to be called up by Big Brother. “They nominated me, I’m shocked,” she said sarcastically.

DoubleKay: The DoubleKay pair consisting of Kellyrae and Kassia are also up for possible eviction. The married duo whose game strategy is acting as ‘besties’, received four nominations. Their unique dynamic as a married couple participating in a reality show has generated significant interest and discussion. Being the first married couple in the BBNaija house gives them a distinct advantage. Kellyrae had earlier expressed shock and disappointment over Tjay labeling him a snake. “The excuses Tjay gave didn’t add up,” Kellyrae insisted, baffled by the idea that Tjay sees him as competition since they mostly meet in the kitchen. Despite the hurt, DoubleKay admitted they weren’t entirely shocked by their nomination.

Chekas: Chekas pair, consisting of two sisters; Chizoba and Onyeka, also face the threat of eviction, as they received two nominations, placing them in the danger zone. The duo have also garnered significant attention and support on social media, which could translate into votes. Will they scale through? We wait.

While the dynamic within the house can be unpredictable, the nominations often reflect the current alliances and tension among housemates. Interestingly, Beta, Chekas, and WanniXHandi all nominated the same two pairs – DoubleKay and Zinwe. While Aces, Mbadiwe Twins and Shatoria nominated Beta and Zinwe. Are these mere coincidences or are strategic alliances forming to take out certain pairs?

The fate of the nominated pairs now lie in the hands of viewers. Which duo will manage to survive the eviction tonight, and who will be forced to leave the “No Loose Guard’” house? Only time will tell.
