Boniface’s unusual week of ups and downs continued on Sunday as the Bayer Leverkusen striker was involved in an accident that left his vehicle totally wrecked.
Just hours after leading Bayer Leverkusen to a crucial win over Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, Boniface reported on social media pages that he had survived a nasty car crash.
After returning from his ordeal in Libya with the Super Eagles and surviving backlash from fans and pundits over his performances for the Super Eagles, Boniface scored in Bayer Leverkusen’s win over Frankfurt
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored the winner for Bayer Leverkusen in the 72nd minute, despite having missed an early penalty, as the reigning champions beat Frankfurt 2-1.
Leverkusen fell behind after Omar Marmoush converted from the spot for Frankfurt and German midfielder Robert Andrich equalised for the champions before Boniface scored the winner mid-way through the second half.
Following his heroics against Frankfurt, Boniface was involved in a crash that saw the Nigerian striker hospitalised to treat his injuries.
Boniface posted images of the car crash on his official social media pages, thanking God for sparing his life in what was a life-threatening situation.
The Bayer Leverkusen star suffered minor injuries to his hand but appeared in good spirits following the crash and will be hoping for a speedy recovery and quick return to action, having escaped a lengthy time out injured or worse.
