Buhari Assures Completion Of Lagos/Ibadan Road, Rail Projects Before End Of Year

In order for the people of South West geo-political zone to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy being enjoying presently, President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the people of the zone to vote enmass for the party’s candidates in the coming elections to ensure their victory.

As he assured the people of zone the completion of the ongoing reconstruction of Lagos/Ibadan expressway and rail project before the end of this year. 

Buhari stated this on Saturday at his re-election campaign bid of All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential campaign rally in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital held at the ancient Mapo Hall.

The President maintained that the ministers for Transportation and his Works and Housing counterpart were working hard to ensure that the two projects were completed before the end of this year. 

He thanked the people for standing in the sun and for sacrificing their time by standing by the party in the scourging sun as he solicited the support of the people of she region for candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.  

According to him, “The Lagos- Ibadan rail project and the Lagos- Ibadan expressway would be completed before end of this year. This is why the ministers for Transportation and the minister for works and housing are working hard that the Lagos- Ibadan railway and the expressway are completed before the end of this year. 

“The second thing is that I have told your governors that, we are going to do the rail project and the road projects, but we need your support. I thank you very much for your support for standing in the sun”. 

Speaking at the rally, the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo also toe the line of the President by urging people of the region to vote for candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections. 

“The market women, are they here, they are the owners of government. The N-Power, the food vendors, great Nigerian youths. We must not go back to the old days. February 16th, vote for Buhari, March 2nd, vote for Penkele, Bayo Adelabu. All of us in Ibadan, we should show them that we are the owners of the votes. 

Also speaking, the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu advised the people of the zone to guard their PVCs, which is their power in re-electing President Buhari and other candidates of the party.

According to him, “On the day of election, vote and don’t just vote and sit down, make sure you protect your votes I will not mention their names, they are interested rigging but we would not allow them. Keep your PVCs, it will not lost, it is your weapon to shame them by voting for our party”. 

Other party stalwarts at the rally include APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos and the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu. 

Others were APC Chairman in the state, Chief Akin Oke, Barrister Festus Keyamo, Hon. Abike Dabiri, Chief Olusola Oke and Chief Adeniyi Akintola.
