CAF Set to Decide Senegal’s AFCON Fate Today

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive and Disciplinary Committees will meet on Tuesday to review the incidents that disrupted the AFCON 2025 final between Morocco and Senegal.

The disciplinary hearing, initially scheduled to take place on Sunday, was postponed following a formal request from the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), which sought additional time to adequately prepare its defence.

CAF granted the request of the Senegalese, citing the need to ensure due process and fairness for all parties involved.

In a significant procedural move aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the process, Ousmane Kane, a Senegalese and president of the CAF Disciplinary Committee, has been formally removed from handling the case.

CAF stated that the decision was taken to avoid any potential conflict of interest and reinforce the principles of neutrality and credibility in the proceedings.

The meeting comes amid a highly charged atmosphere, with the FSF president making a series of public accusations against Morocco and CAF in the aftermath of the final.
