Chelsea FC has reached an agreement for the appointment of Graham Potter as the club’s new manager following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday.
Skysports reports that discussions took place between Chelsea’s hierarchy and the representatives of Potter to finalise some of the essential details of the contract.
It was also reported that documents are now being prepared and only a matter of time for Potter to sign the contract and to be officially announced as the new Chelsea first-team coach.
Renowned transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the contract was going to be a long-term project and Chelsea would discuss with Brighton on payment of a certain compensatory amount.
Potter, 47, began his managerial career with Swedish outfit Östersunds FK in 2011, where he guided them to the top division before leaving for Swansea City and establishing them in the Sky Bet Championship.
He was appointed as Brighton manager in 2019 and led the Seagulls to their highest finish in the Premier League.
