Christmas Celebration: Be Careful Of What You Post On Social Media – Onadipe Tells Social Media Users

As Christians celebrate Christmas in this last month of the year 2022, an advocate of cyber security, Mr. Rotimi Onadipe has told all internet users to be careful of what they share or post on social media.
Mr. Onadipe disclosed this at a weekly awareness campaign on cyber security which was held at the Internet Safety Magazine Office, Ibadan on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
According to the cyber security advocate, the festive season is a time when many internet users want to be online to enjoy Christmas activities around the world. It is also a time that internet users need to be very careful of what they share or post on social media to prevent online dangers.
He said: “As we enjoy Christmas and send messages to our friends and family members, please let’s remember to avoid dangerous activities on social media.
“Don’t share the news because it is trending. Before you share any post with anyone or any group on social media during this festive season, verify the source of the information to confirm it’s not fake or misleading information.
“Don’t share or post any information that poses a threat to other people’s lives. More importantly, don’t share pictures, videos, or other details about your trip or travel plans on social media to avoid becoming a victim of kidnapping.
“Remember that in most cases, you are responsible for any information you post or share with anybody or group so, always think twice and verify before you share,” Onadipe added.
