Comedian Ijoba Lande Accuses Lagos Police of Assault, Robbery

Comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has accused officers from the Lagos State Police Command‘s Area “J” Division of physically attacking him, confiscating his mobile phone, and taking money that he says belonged to his brother.
A video that has since gone viral on social media shows the entertainer with visible facial injuries, including bloodstains around his eyes, as people nearby poured water on his face in an effort to help him. The clip also captures moments from a location believed to be a police station, where the skit maker appeared to be lodging a complaint over the alleged incident.
Reacting to the development, Ijoba Lande said the incident occurred just six days after he returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom. He, however, did not disclose the precise location or provide full details of what led to the confrontation with the officers.
According to him, the police operatives physically attacked him, confiscated his iPhone 16 Pro Max and made away with $1,200 in cash said to belong to his brother.
The popular content creator, widely known for his comedy skits and roles in Yoruba Nollywood films, described the experience as traumatic and said he is seeking justice over the alleged misconduct.
