Congratulations To Our Own Fagbenle, As She Earns Record 10th Ivy League Rookie Of The Week Honour
Temi Fagbenle was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the 10th time this season, tying the record for most awards won in a single season.
She now is now on par with Diana Caramanico ’01 from Penn and Elisa Morrison ’07 from Dartmouth as having been named the Ancient Eight’s rookie of the week more times than anyone else in the conference’s history. The London, England native has also been named player of the week twice this year, helping Harvard to set a new Ivy League standard with 18 weekly awards won this season. Christine Clark earned four player of the week honours while Victoria Lippert garnered the award twice.
She helped the Crimson clinch its second straight WNIT berth this weekend with wins at Columbia and Cornell. The sophomore turned in a double-double in both victories, first with a 14-point, 12-rebound effort against the Lions on Friday. She added 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Big Red on Saturday, and finished the week shooting 63.2 percent from the field.
