Court Grants VeryDarkMan Bail With Strict Conditions
Following his arraignment for impersonation on Friday, social media commentator Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has been granted bail set at N2 million, accompanied by two sureties of equivalent value.
The court has mandated that VeryDarkMan surrender his international passports and any other forms of identification.
The police charged VDM, as he is commonly referred to, with impersonation due to his appearance in a viral video wearing a police uniform.
GistLover notes that the police condemned the unauthorized use of their official uniforms and equipment by VDM in a video shared on his social media accounts last Thursday.
In a statement issued by spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police announced that an investigation into the video is underway.
The bail conditions provided by VDM’s attorney, Deji Adeyanju, reads: “Two million, two sureties in like terms. Sureties to deposit international passports, sureties to provide means of Identification. Sureties to depose to affidavit to provide the defendant during trial at all times.
“Prosecutor to verify sureties’ address. Sureties to provide utility bills, defendant to depose to affidavit to be available at all times during trial. Sureties to reside within the Court’s jurisdiction, particularly Abuja municipal.”
