Court Halts Pro-Wike’s Rally In Bayelsa

A High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State has issued an interim order stopping a planned political rally in support of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike

The rally was scheduled to take place in Yenagoa on April 12, 2025.

Presiding over the case, Justice I.A. Uzakah granted the restraining order on Thursday in response to a motion ex-parte filed in Suit No. BYHC/YHC/CV/133/2025.

The motion was brought before the court by the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Biriyai Dambo, SAN.

The defendants in the suit include the NEW Associates—organisers of the event—Mr. George Turnah, and Minister Wike.
