COVID-19: 167 New Cases, Two Deaths  Reported In Nigeria

The country also recorded two (2) deaths on Friday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday October 15, 2021 announced  one hundred and sixty-seven (167) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria urging citizens to take proactive measures to prevent themselves from contracting the pandemic.

“Today’s report includes:

▪️6 states with zero cases reported: Benue, Gombe, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Sokoto,” NCDC said.

As of Friday October 15, there are 9,603 active cases in Nigeria.
