
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday October 07, 2021 announced two hundred and ninety (290) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The virus also killed nineteen (19) people on Thursday.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria urging citizens to take proactive measures to prevent themselves from contracting the pandemic.

“States with zero cases reported (1): Sokoto,” NCDC said.
As of Thursday October 07, there are 9,672 active cases in Nigeria.
