COVID-19: 255 New Cases, Five Deaths Reported In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday September 26, 2021 announced  two hundred and fifty-five (255) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

The virus also killed five (5) people on Sunday.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“Today’s report includes:

Backlogs of confirmed (124) & discharged (140) cases for Imo State from 20th – 26th September 2021

0 cases from Bauchi, Benue, Nasarawa, Osun and Sokoto States” NCDC said.

As of Sunday September 26, there are 9,159 active cases in Nigeria.
