COVID-19: 541 New Cases Reported In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday August 15, 2021 announced five hundred and forty-one (541) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 which is the highest in the last six months in the country.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“Today’s report includes:

✅Six states with zero cases reported: Gombe, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto,” NCDC said.

As of  Sunday August 15, there are 13,152 active cases in Nigeria.
