COVID-19: 6 Deaths, 295 New Cases Reported In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday September 28, 2021 announced  two hundred and ninety-five (295) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

The virus also killed six (6) people on Tuesday.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria urging citizens to take proactive measures to prevent themselves from contracting the pandemic.

“Today’s report includes:

2 deaths reported from Delta state for September 23rd (1) and 26th (1)

0 cases from Bauchi and Sokoto States,” NCDC said.

As of  Tuesday September 28, there are 9,092 active cases in Nigeria.
