
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday September 29, 2021 announced four hundred and thirty-seven (437) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The virus also killed six (6) people on Wednesday.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria urging citizens to take proactive measures to prevent themselves from contracting the pandemic.

“Today’s report includes:
126 cases reported from Lagos state are for September 28th (94) and 29th (32)
22 cases reported from Anambra state are for September 28th (12) and 29th (10)
12 rather than 6 recoveries were erroneously reported for Jigawa state on September 24th
0 cases from Bauchi and Sokoto States,” NCDC said.
As of Wednesday September 29, there are 9,301 active cases in Nigeria.
