The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday July 27, 2021 announced four hundred and four (404) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
Out of the 404 new cases recorded in Nigeria, 356 cases were reported in Lagos.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.
“Today’s report includes 0 cases from Sokoto, Oyo, Imo and Enugu States,” NCDC said.
As of Tuesday July 27, there are 4,757 active cases in Nigeria.
