
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, December 30, 2021, announced one thousand, one hundred thirty-nine (1,139) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The country also reported three (03) deaths on Thursday.
Nigeria has also confirmed a new variant of COVID-19 called Omicron.
The country is battling the fourth wave of the virus.
“Today’s report includes:
41 cases reported for Akwa Ibom state for 27th (12), 28th (15), and 29th (14) December 2021
9 cases reported for Cross River state for 29th (
and 30th (1) December 2021
A backlog of confirmed cases from Lagos State from 17th to 29th (321) and 30th (99) December 2021
As of Thursday, December 30, there are 24,480 active cases in Nigeria.
3 states with zero cases reported: Osun, Plateau, and Sokoto,” NCDC said.
