COVID-19: Nigeria Records 123 Confirmed New Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday July 17, 2021 announced one hundred and twenty-three (123) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“Today’s report includes:

✅ Data from Akwa Ibom for 16th July (10 cases) and 17th July (8 cases)

✅Four states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Kano, Ondo, Sokoto,” NCDC said.

As of  Saturday July 17, there are 2,531 active cases in Nigeria.
