The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday January 12, 2021 announced one thousand and two hundred and seventy (1,270) confirmed new cases of coronavirus also known as COVID-19 in the country.
Twelve (12) people were reported dead on Tuesday.
The total confirmed cases now stand at 102,601.

The Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 in its weekly briefing a few weeks ago had warned Nigerians that if the cases continue to rise the country may consider a second lockdown as a measure to curb the spread.
The Presidential Taskforce had earlier this month also warned worship centres to be weary of annual christmas carol to curb the spread. It also issued stern warnings to Nigerians abroad who intend to come home for christmas to away or risk being locked down in case there’s a rise in coronavirus in the country.
As at Tuesday January 12, 2021 there are 19,654 active cases in Nigeria.
