COVID-19: Nigeria Records 159 New Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, February 01, 2022, announced one hundred fifty-nine (159) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

No death was reported on Tuesday. 

Nigeria has also confirmed a new variant of COVID-19 called Omicron.

The country is battling the fourth wave of the virus.

“Today’s report includes:

▪️57 confirmed cases reported from Lagos state for 31st Jan (26) & 1st Feb (31)

▪️172 community discharged cases reported from FCT

▪️0 cases reported from Delta, Kaduna, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and the Sokoto States,” NCDC said.

As of Tuesday, February 01,  2022, there are 20,554 active cases in Nigeria.
