The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday, January 21, 2022, announced two hundred thirty-six (236) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The country also reported one (01) death on Friday.
Nigeria has also confirmed a new variant of COVID-19 called Omicron.
The country is battling the fourth wave of the virus.
“Today’s report includes:
90 confirmed cases reported for Lagos for 20th (46) & 21st (44) January 2022
29 confirmed cases reported for FCT for 20th (15) & 21st (14) January 2022
322 Discharged cases reported for FCT for 20th (1) & 21st (8) January 2022 and 313 community discharges for 20th (119) & 21st (194)
4 states with zero cases reported: Bauchi, Ogun, Ondo, and Sokoto State,” NCDC said.
As of Friday, January 21, 2022, there are 22,900 active cases in Nigeria.
