COVID-19: Nigeria Records 407 Confirmed New Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, August 01, 2021 announced four hundred and seven (407) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“Today’s report includes 0 cases reported from Kano, Osun, Plateau, Rivers, and Sokoto States,” NCDC said.

As of Sunday, August 01, there are 7,161 active cases in Nigeria.
