The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, August 02, 2021 announced four hundred and four (444) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

Deaths in Lagos State reported on 31st July, 2021
Six states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Kaduna and Bauchi,” NCDC said.
As of Monday, August 02, there are 7,562 active cases in Nigeria.
