
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday August 07, 2021 announced four hundred and seventy-three (473) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The virus also claimed three (3) lives on Saturday.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

“States with zero cases reported (4): Kaduna , Sokoto , Kano and Ondo,” NCDC said.
As of Saturday August 07, 2021 there are 9,958 active cases in Nigeria.
