
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, August 04, 2021 announced seven hundred and forty-seven (747) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
The virus also claimed four (4) lives on Wednesday.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria.

Four States with zero cases reported: Sokoto, Nasarawa, Kano and Ondo,” NCDC said.
As of Wednesday, August 04, there are 8,636 active cases in Nigeria.
