COVID-19: Nigeria Records 828 New Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday, December 31, 2021, announced eight hundred twenty-eight (828) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

The country also reported one (01) death on Friday. 

Nigeria has also confirmed a new variant of COVID-19 called Omicron.

The country is battling the fourth wave of the virus.

“Today’s report includes:

▪️11 cases reported for Delta state are for 30th (5), and 31st (6) December 2021

▪️3 states with zero cases reported: Osun, Ondo, and Sokoto,” NCDC said.

As of Friday, December 31, 2021, there are 25,014 active cases in Nigeria.
