COVID-19: Nigeria Reports 404 New Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday, December 19, 2021, announced four hundred and four (404) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

The virus also killed one person on Sunday.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

The country has also confirmed a new variant of COVID-19 called Omicron.

“Today’s report includes:

▪️ 0 cases reported from Bauchi, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, and the Plateau States,” NCDC said.

As of Sunday, December 19, there are 9,365 active cases in Nigeria.
