The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday, December 18, 2021, announced eight hundred and twenty-eight (828) confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.
New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as the country confirmed the deadly Delta variants.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday, July 11 in a statement announced a possible third wave of the pandemic in Nigeria urging citizens to take proactive measures to prevent themselves from contracting the pandemic.
“Today’s report includes:
Backlog of cases reported from Delta state include backlog from 7th – 17th December
0 cases reported from Bauchi, Ondo, Osun, and the Sokoto States,” NCDC said.
As of Saturday, December 18, there are 8,977 active cases in Nigeria.
