Cristiano Ronaldo Gives Retirement Hint After Brace In Portugal Win

Cristiano Ronaldo has shed light on his potential retirement timeline after achieving another milestone in Portugal’s win on Friday.

Portugal delivered a commanding 5-1 victory over Poland in the UEFA Nations League, with Ronaldo scoring twice, including a spectacular bicycle kick.

The win secured Portugal’s place in the quarterfinals and marked Ronaldo’s 132nd international win, surpassing former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos, who achieved 131 wins with Spain.

After the game, the 39-year-old reflected on his future in football, emphasizing his passion for the game despite the inevitable approach of retirement.

“I just want to enjoy [myself],” Ronaldo told reporters. “Plan for retirement? If it has to happen, in one or two years … I don’t know. I’m turning 40 soon.

“I really want to enjoy, as long as I feel motivated I keep going. The day I don’t feel motivated, I will retire.”

When asked about his post-retirement plans, Ronaldo made it clear he doesn’t see himself stepping into a coaching role.
