Davido Makes Huge History As First African Artiste To Perform At PFA Awards
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, known on stage as Davido, has made history on Tuesday night, as the first African artiste to perform at the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards in England.
The ‘feel’ crooner’s performance came as an interlude before the biggest awards of the night were announced at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester.
The superstar took to his Twitter handle to celebrate his historic performance.
His post reads: “Thank you @PFA for the opportunity to not only attend such a prestigious event but also perform. Music and sports have always gone great together and we proved that again last night! Next stop Dubai @cocacolaarena.”
It is important to also note that this is not the first time Davido is making afrobeat and Africans proud, he performed at the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar last year.
