Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has celebrates with the residents and stakeholders in the state to mark Nigeria’s Democracy Day. This is contain in a press release posted on the governor’s timeline on Facebook and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr Taiwo Adeoluwa earlier today. The governor also stated that there won’t be any formal activities to mark the day.
The statement reads in parts;
Senator Ibikunle Amosun, CON, FCA, felicitates with all residents and Stakeholders of the State on the celebration of 2016 DEMOCRACY DAY, Sunday, May 29.
This year’s celebration will be marked in a uniquely different way. There will be no formal State event, march past, ceremonial parade of any sort. On the other hand, the Governor will be the GUEST of the Civil Society Organizations, Human Right Groups and Democracy Activists in a program tagged: “OGUN CIVIL SOCIETY CONVERSATION WITH THE GOVERNOR”.
The organizers have notified Government that the event will hold on Sunday, 29 May, 2015 at the Cinema Hall, June 12 Cultural Center, Abeokuta. Time: 12 noon.
